“All I can say I hate my past and love my future.
The past is prison in which I was kept for eight years and the future is freedom”
FREEDOM PROGRAMME created by Pat Craven
Limited crèche spaces available
None of this is your fault, You are not to blame
He was abusive before you met him, Controlling women is his game
We have been delivering Freedom Programme for five years and have just delivered our 14th Programme.
The 11 week programme is open to women 16+ who want to learn more about the reality of domestic violence and abuse in relationships. Each session runs for 2 hours per week and explores the abusive tactics, controlling behaviours and belief systems of the dominator and the effects on our health and well-being
As it is a rolling programme you can start the programme at any point and can catch up on any missed sessions when they are repeated.
We understand how hard it can be to attend a programme for the first time which is why we can arrange to meet you beforehand to explain the programme and answer any questions you may have.
PLEASE NOTE – YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TALK ABOUT YOUR OWN EXPERIENCE DURING SESSIONS
All women are actively welcomed to the Freedom Programme. We never give advice or tell a woman that she should leave. If it were that easy, she would have already left. Judgemental statements such as ‘I would never let anyone do that to me’ or ‘this has never happened to me’ is simply not acceptable.
Facilitators refer to all women as ‘us’ and would never use the dreaded words ‘these women’.
These programmes are only for the women who attend them, observers are not endorsed.
You can stop and start the programme whenever you want and if you come once and decide it’s not for you then that is entirely up to you. You will be welcomed back at any time and will not be questioned why you haven’t been.
Some women complete it in one programme whilst some women dip in and out and have taken a year to complete it fully.
Either way you will be welcomed back at any point
Recognise The Persuader?
He is the ‘Oscar Winning Performer’ We study him in detail in session 10. The persuader uses threats or coercion to get us to either stay with him, take him back and/or to drop charges. He is a master manipulator. After this session we realise that his tears are all an act. He’s fine tuned his acting skills over the years.
To see some of the comments from women who have completed the programme go to Womens Comments page.
Everyone who attends the programme will receive a free copy of ‘Living With The Dominator’
And a copy of The Home Study Workbook which is a supplement to ‘Living With The Dominator’.

“I recently attended the freedom programme following an abusive partner and it really changed my life. It gave me the clarity and strength needed to understand my situation and leave my abuser once and for all. The passion and commitment that Jacky and Donna possess to deliver the programme was another huge source of strength and again gave me the courage and wisdom I needed to overcome this period of my life. Subsequently I have not only left my abuser behind and I am building a positive life for myself and my son but also have helped other family members and friends out of their abusive relationships with the knowledge and integrity I gained from the freedom project. I will be forever grateful to all concerned with this project and I feel without them my story would have been far from positive. This work needs to continue not only for women in current abusive patterns but for future generations as abusive patterns are known to repeat. I cannot emphasis enough the important place this work has for our society. With the greatest respect and gratitude – H”
“Thanks to you (and support from all the girls I shared my journey with), I was able to predict his next move of persuasion and abuse, keeping me from going back. For this reason, my son will get the chance to have a happy, stable and safe childhood. I am rebuilding my relationship with friends and family and I can look forward to a loving relationship in the future, filled with respect, equality and happiness. But most important of all, we are still alive”
