Taken from session 6
As a group we looked at how the perpetrators actions determines our thoughts, feelings and behaviours and the thoughts, feelings and behaviours of our children who may be witnessing or hearing the abuse. The perpetrators actions encompass them all.
This is key to understanding our children’s behaviour.
All the women in the group expressed a wish that professionals working with children would have benefited from this session so that they too could understand why their child was behaving a certain way.

On Week 8 we cover a whole day on Protective Behaviours (PB’s) which is an approach to safety based on two themes which helps children and adults to recognise any situation where they feel unsafe and explores practical ways to keep safe.
- We all have the right to feel safe
- We all have the right to talk to someone about anything even if it’s awful or small
